The Leicester songwriter, producer and musician born Tor Maries, describes herself as “no wave” while critics has labeled her post-punk, sprechgesang as well as a punk with a keyboard and killer songs. Whatever you call her, fact remains that Billy Nomates is one the most exciting and unsung artists around. Without abandoning the deadpan honesty and wit of her self-titled debut, Nomates conjures artists like Stevie Nicks on her astonishing sophomore album ‘CACTI’ (2023) and demonstrates that there is more than one incarnation of the equally brutalist and vulnerable Billy Nomates. This august she will be performing at Stay Out West!

NABIHAH IQBAL – 01:15
Nabihah Iqbal is a musician, producer, DJ and broadcaster from London. 2023 will see Nabihah Iqbal release her eagerly-awaited sophomore album ‘Dreamer’ via Ninja Tune, the follow up to her 2017 critically acclaimed debut ‘Weighing of the Heart’. Aside from working on her own music, Nabihah has hosted a bi-weekly show on NTS Radio since 2013, exploring musical traditions and cultures without boundaries. Inter-disciplinary projects form an important part of Nabihah’s work and she has collaborated with Chinese artist Zhang Ding, with Wolfgang Tillmans as part of his Tate Modern exhibition and was recently involved in a group performance at the Barbican as part of its major Basquiat retrospective.
